There’s nothing better than hopping into a freshly made bed at the end of a long day. Unfortunately, the remnants of the long day — sweat, dirt, crumbs from your lunch — get in with you, too.
Regularly washing your pillows will set you up for a healthy night of zzz’s. But how often should you wash your pillows? Here’s our guide:
Our answer: It depends. Generally, we recommend three to six months, wash your pillowcases every two weeks. Look at the care guide on your pillow’s tag, but remember it’s essentially a bedsheet for your head.
Temperature changes and sweating affects your pillow. It’s susceptible to the same gross stuff as your sheets, even if it’s covered by a regularly freshened pillowcase. Give your head a great, clean place to rest by following the pillow’s specific care tips.
How To Wash Your Casper Pillows:
Washing will not only help reinvigorate the fill materials, but it will also extend a pillow’s lifespan. While you should swap out your pillowcases weekly, a full cleaning of the pillow every 3-6 months will remove lingering stains and keep it clean of allergens and dust.
Regularly used pillows should be replaced once a year. It’s good practice to keep more than one pillow on your bed to swap out if one feels like it’s losing its oomph.
Casper’s Take:
Any worthwhile fiber pillow will be machine washable so you don’t have to jump through hoops to get it clean. Psssst: ours are.
