Pillow Size Guide

Which pillow size is right for you?

Standard vs King Pillow Sizing
Pillow sizes can vary, but standard pillows, also known as queen pillows, are typically suitable for all types of sleepers. If you prefer extra space or need to fill the width of a larger mattress, king-size pillows, which are about 30% larger, are a great choice.

What are the different types of pillows?

It's What's Inside That Counts

Casper pillows fall into three varieties of fill: fiber, foam, or a combination of the two we call hybrids. The type of pillow fill that is best for you is mostly a personal preference, but if you are looking for a pillow that is fully washable, the Casper collection of fiber pillows will be best. If you are hoping for a pillow that requires no fluffing, the Casper hybrid or foam pillow collection is the clear winner.

Fiber

Casper’s fiber category of pillows is the most traditional type of pillow. It includes both natural down and down alternative fills to fit your preference. The Casper collection of fiber pillows includes the bestselling Casper Original Pillow, Original Cooling Pillow and the Casper Down Pillow.

Foam

Casper foam pillows are engineered with just the right balance of squish and support and, most importantly, they never need to be fluffed. The Casper collection of foam pillows includes the Casper Foam Snow Pillow.

Hybrid

A Casper hybrid pillow is the best of both worlds, combining the traditional fluff and softness of down alternative with the support and squish of foam that never goes flat. The Casper collection of hybrid pillows includes the Casper Hybrid Pillow and the Casper Hybrid Snow Pillow.

Firmness Pillow Firmness

What pillow firmness should I choose?

Soft, Firm, and In Between

A pillow’s overall firmness may seem subjective, but there is real science and testing the Casper product development team conducts for every pillow we create to determine its firmness. What you find most comfortable is a choice completely up to you, but we have developed a five-point scale to make shopping for the perfect firmness a little bit easier.

Firm

A pillow with the least amount of sink is considered a firm pillow on the Casper firmness scale.

Medium Firm

One step closer to the middle ground, a medium-firm firmness is a touch softer on the scale.

Medium

The Goldilocks of firmnesses, a pillow with a medium firmness will be enjoyed by most sleepers. It is that 'just right' balance of soft and firm.

Medium Soft

One step closer to the middle ground, a medium-soft firmness is a touch firmer on the scale.

Soft

Sometimes also called plush, this is a pillow that you really sink into and is the softest option available in the Casper pillow collection.

Profile Pillow Profile

What pillow height is best for me?

Rest Your Head

A combination of height and firmness, profile refers to the overall height of the pillow once compressed with your head while lying down. Did you know the average adult head is between 8 and 12 pounds? The Casper product development team tests each pillow's overall profile in order to provide sleepers the best understanding of which pillow may be best for them. For the optimal fit, the pillow you sleep with should fill the gap your shoulders create between your head and the surface of your mattress. Casper pillows come in low and medium profiles to fit a variety of sleep positions and sleeper body types.

Low Profile

Generally, smaller individuals and some stomach or back sleepers prefer a lower profile pillow. In the Casper pillow collection our lowest profile pillow is the Casper Down Pillow.

Medium Profile

The perfect middle ground that fits the most sleep styles and sleeper sizes, especially side sleepers. Casper medium profile pillows include Original Pillow, Original Cooling Pillow, Hybrid Pillow, Hybrid Snow Pillow, and Foam Snow Pillow.

Sleep Style Pillow Sleep Style

How do I choose a pillow for my sleep position?

A Pillow for Every Type of Sleeper

Different types of sleepers have different needs from their pillow. For the optimal fit the pillow you sleep with should fill the gap your shoulders create between your head and the surface of your mattress. Depending on your sleep style, there may be a Casper pillow that is more suited for you than others.

Back Sleepers

The sleeping beauty, if you fall asleep most often and most easily on your back. The Casper Down Pillow is great for back sleepers.

Reviews

I am constantly in search

"I am constantly in search of the perfect pillow for me. We were in the Casper store to test out the mattress and loved it, and I asked the sales person what the pillow was. It was the queen version of the hybrid snow pillow, and I KNEW I had to have it! In just the few minutes that my husband and I were on that bed, I knew I was in love with the pillow. we purchased a California king mattress and the hybrid snow pillows to go with it and we are in love with our new bed! It is hard to get out of bed in the morning and we have never slept better!"

Honestly I don’t like

"I don’t like Hybrid Snow Pillow Because it makes my neck hurt a lot and it doesn't adapt to the positions that one sleeps, I was really looking for the best pillow but I still can't find it, I'll keep looking."

— Isaac T. (1/5)

It's definitely most comfortable sleeping

"It's definitely most comfortable sleeping on your back but side sleeping is good too. My wife and I love them. They feel very cool to the touch"

Pretty much EVERY time I

"Pretty much EVERY time I buy something these days on the splinterweb I am asked to review it which is a real pain in the neck!! However, this item, thankfully is NOT! In fact it's rather cool. One thing worth mentioning is the chunk of metal that is the zipper pull. . . . be extra careful to ensure it doesn't scratch your nice, wooden headboard or wifey will be pissed!!"

— CHRISTOPHE D. (5/5)

The pillow is okay. For

"The pillow is okay. For the price of them, I would have expected better support. The pillows seem small and flat and have not improved my sleep very much. I would not recommend these pillows for side sleeper who are looking for more neck support."

Great pillow! It feels supportive

"Great pillow! It feels supportive yet not overly firm. The loft feels right for my neck, not too high, not too low, just right. The cooling (snow) effect is nice when you put your head down, but I don't feel it after a while. The pillow is a bit heavy so I preferred getting the standard size instead of the king size (even though I have a king bed) and it's fine in this size."
