Engineered for everything you might do in bed, the Casper’s award-winning sleep surface combines supportive memory foam and a springy comfort layer. It offers just the right amount of sink and bounce for deep sleep and indoor sports.
Our top comfort layer features a breathable, open-cell design to increase circulation and keep you cool. Air can pass freely beneath your body, even when the material contours to your curves.
We recommend the Casper Foundation for optimal support. You can also use a box spring with solid wood slats that are no more than 4” apart.
A flat platform will offer direct support under your Casper.
A slatted base works just fine. The slats should be unyielding, wooden, secured into the base, and spaced less than 4" apart.
I decided to give Casper a try after moving and needing a new mattress. The ordering was easy and was delivered in an air sealed packaging. Once it was opened the mattress quickly expanded to its full size. It was a bit soft during the first use, soft enough that I woke up with an aching back the first few nights if you're not accustom to a soft mattress, but firms up in time. After a few month of use, I wouldn't describe the comfort as being outrageous or exceptional compared to other mattress. For the price, it's a good mattress. If you're sharing this, you definitely want to get the king size as the side of the mattress is a bit too soft. You pretty much just sink in along the side especially if you sit on it. It's not a mattress that I would go raving about but I would offer it as an option.
We bought a full mattress and foundation. The boxes were manageable by one person though not by the 105 pound one of us. Easily set up. The rest of the story gets even better. We knew it was perfect for us within the first few minutes of checking out our usual sleeping positions. I'm writing this after 3 nights. I had a Tempurpedic for years. It was a great bed too but pricey and held heat. You won't be getting this one back in 100 days. Thank you for delivering a product that is exactly what you say it is...a necessity for our great night's sleep.
Replaced a ~10 year old pillow-top queen mattress with a king sized Casper and haven't looked back. Shipping was extremely quick and and the live chat was very helpful. The unboxing was fun, we enjoyed watching the mattress come to life and "expand" to its full size. Some similar style mattresses suggest a waiting period of 24-48 hours before you can sleep on them, but not with Casper, we went from unboxed to sleeping in 10 minutes. The mattress is extremely comfortable and sleeps myself, my wife, our English bulldog Leeroy, and a cat and it still doesn't feel crowded. I was worried that the mattress would sleep "hot" but it felt cooler then our previous mattress. Very pleased with the purchase and we will purchase another when it is time for our toddler to get a larger bed.
I am so impressed with my Casper mattress that I plan to purchase a king when I have the space. I share the bed with 7 small dogs and 2 cats, so it is a little crowded! The bed is so comfortable that my house sitter's wife ( a massage therapist) trades sitting assignments if she needs to get a really good night's sleep and rest her body after a full day of treatments. I really wish that Casper would make a mattress that would fit RV queen and king beds. The mattresses would certainly help with over tired bodies after driving for 8 to 12 hours. Perhaps the design team could look into that possibility for the future. Thank you Casper!
This Casper bed is one million times better than the last bed we had. Granted, the last bed was well over 10 years old, but still. We moved up from a queen to a king size bed, which is also amazing. My husband and I never feel the other one move around on their side of the bed, which makes for a much better sleeping experience for each of us. The unboxing was pretty fun, and I have to say we were shocked that our king size mattress could come in such a small box! We ordered a king size mattress and the foundation - we also have a metal king size frame that we set the foundation on to raise it up to "normal" height. Overall, everything was super easy. However, our foundation had a problem with the brackets not matching up on 3 of the 4 sides. This made for a fairly stressful situation, as we discovered this about 10 minutes before their offices closed on a Friday night and had already moved our other bed out of the room. However, a few quick phone calls to HQ and we had it worked out. My husband ended up moving 3 of the brackets about 1/4" each to allow them to line up, and then the foundation went together really easily. This was done in about 5 minutes with a drill. Very nicely, Casper sent us two pillows to make up for that experience, which was awesome. We love the pillows, too, although I think I would have a hard time paying full price for them - it's just not something I'm used to doing! Overall, we are very happy with our experience and would highly recommend the bed!
I had a full waveless water bed before casper and that was the most comfortable mattress i have ever slept on. had it for 20 years though and it was starting to leak.
The order arrived a day early, which was annoying because it needed a signature. Luckily I happened to be around, but it looks like the tracking number I got was for the pillow, NOT the mattress. The unboxing was cool -- so much mattress in such a little space! Disposal of my previous mattress was a hassle I hadn't really thought about, other mattress companies take away your old mattress when they deliver the new one. The smell was awful! The FAQ says the smell will only linger for a day, but it was hard to step foot in the room for a full week. Once I was able to sleep on the mattress full-time, I found my sleep to be very unchanged from before. Nothing amazing about this mattress, though because it was new it was certainly a bit better. So many people talk about getting one of these mattresses and having the "best sleep of their life" -- not me. It's been fine, but nothing noteworthy.
Omg! I can honestly say I sleep sound on the Casper mattress! My previous mattress I would wake up multiple times a night and wake up tired. On the Casper I get a full nights sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and rested. I am very pleased with my purchase.
Being a King Size mattress, it was a bit heavy, but manageable. After unpacking and opening it to the air, it instantly began to take form. Was fun watching it come to full size. It is very comfortable and supportive as compared to my old mattress. A slight odor of off-gassing was noticed, but not too objectionable. Has now disappeared totally after a couple of weeks. This is a great mattress and a great buy!!
The Casper is ok for the money. It is comfy but... It is not as long as advertised and is not as thick as advertised. I am bummed about the short length! It is a full 2 shorter than advertised! Unmoving was painless and even getting it upstairs was easy. I just wish it where the full 80 inches long! Regards.
I just got a new bedroom set and ordered the Casper Queen size. The furniture installers opened the box and placed the mattress on the bed for me since I had back surgery almost 2 years ago. I watched a video comparing a Casper to TuftandNeedle. While basically the ratings were somewhat even and the TuftandNeedle was cheaper, the quality of the mattress covering was evident. I figured if the outside was cheezy, then what was the inside like. And over the lifetime of the mattress, a couple of bucks per month was not worth horrible sleep. I slept last night on my new Casper for the first time and slept the sleep of the dead. Other than a nature call, I was out. There was no chemical smell like I have heard others mention and the mattress went to full size quickly after opening it. It did seem a little warmer towards waking up, but that may also be a med I am taking since I did sweat some using a conventional method. And with the 100 night return policy, what have I got to lose?
It was fun setting up the mattress up and watching it expand to it's full size ......MAGICAL!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my first night sleep on my Casper. The difference between the old mattress and the Casper was like DAY AND NIGHT!!!
We had it unwrapped and on the foundation and ready to go within 30 minutes. There was no odor. Once the plastic was taken off it expanded to full size in ten minutes. We had a Sealy mattress (pillow top) for 7 years prior. In the last couple of years the mattress had lost its firmness and was getting that you sink in... you would wake up unrested with sore muscles. We didn't realize how bad it was until we started sleeping on the Casper (queen). The Casper makes it as if there is no pressure on your body that you are sleeping on a cloud. It used to take me 30 minutes or more to get comfortable and fall asleep on the old mattress with the Casper I'm asleep in less than 2 minutes. Everyone should get a Casper. You won't know what you are missing until you try it. Once your try it your quality of life will change for the better. Better sleep = more productive day, more energy, rejuvenated mind and body!!!! I highly recommend this mattress, it was everything Casper said it was and more. 5 stars !!!!!!
First, let me say that Casper representatives are very friendly to speak to by phone to answer questions. We were impressed that a real person would speak with us and answer questions, as this is a big purchase. Second, let me say that the online shopping and payment experience was perfect and easy. Third, the foundation, bed frame, mattress and bedding (sheets, etc.) came within the time frame promised. Fourth, and so important- we updated from a queen-sized bed to a king. This was a great decision and we love our new bed. We must say that you should set up your bed frame first (follow the easy directions), set up your foundation second, following the easy directions (no tools needed) and then lastly un-box and un-wrap your Casper Mattress at the foot of your bed or beside your foundation (following the easy to follow directions. If you are purchasing a king-sized mattress we recommend that two people lift the mattress up and place it on the foundation because you will not want to disturb the really nice fabric-covered slats that your mattress will rest on. The waterproof mattress protector and sheets are of excellent quality and so soft. If you have a partner in bed with you, take notice of how your partner's body looks on your old mattress system. Then set up your Casper bed and see the full body support your partner now has in your new bed. My husband and I are sleeping so much longer without tossing and turning all night. We do not feel each other move or get in and out of bed while we are asleep. My husband is getting relief from back pain and I am getting relief from hip pain. Great relief! We recommend the Casper bed. Sleep on it for 100 days and we think you will not want to part with your new bed. The price of the Casper system is worth your new sleeping experience. We wish you the best nights' sleep possible.
Update for potential Casper buyers who are on the fence! We have been slumbering away on our casper mattress for over a year now and it is just as comfortable and full of support as the day it popped out of that box, and no sags or indentations to be found! No wonder it is still the top pick in Consumer Reports Magazine! . Casper gets 5 stars for helping the world (well at least these 2) get a great night's sleep. This is the best mattress we have had in our 41 years of marriage! We truly look forward to snuggling onto it.
Just two nights in with our new Casper king-sized mattress and the Foundation, and we're instant fans. We were definitely a bit worried moving from a traditional pillow-top (but firm) mattress that the Casper might be a bit soft or that we would sink down into it, but we find the opposite. It's actually firmer than we expected, yet surprisingly soft and comfortable to sleep on. We haven't had any overheating issues or other uncomfortable sleep. Being engineers, we were also very impressed by the construction of the Casper Foundation. What ingenious design! Though I have to agree with some others who have commented about the thinness of the mattress. We've become accustomed to having a bed much higher off the ground, but the Casper mattress and foundation combined measure in at a full 4" thinner than our old pillow-top mattress and box spring. We're considering ways we might either add another box spring or otherwise raise things up, but that's not really a criticism of the quality of the mattress. Cons: Yes, there's some smell from the mattress after opening, but it's not overwhelming or terribly unpleasant. We expect that to go away as it airs out, unfortunately being winter and freezing outside, it's hard to provide adequate air circulation in the bedroom.
1. The bed will not be able to be put back in it's shipping box once it is inflated to full size. Casper office tells me that should you want to return the bed that a local charity will come to your house and pick up the full size bed. No need for you to repackage. 2. When you release the retaining band the mattress really comes alive with a large amount of air being drawn into the mattress in a very short period of time. It sounds like you are in a wind tunnel. The unit increases in size by at least 50% in 30 or 40 seconds. 3. You are now looking at a full size mattress that turns out to be very comfortable. It is a firm mattress that easily conforms to your body shape. After sleeping on it for several days I decided to add my 2 inch memory foam topper to get a soft exterior that works well with my 74 year old body. 4. The mattress by its self is excellent and conforms perfectly to my shape and works perfectly if you are use to a firm surface and it should work well for years. I had been accustom to a similar firm foam mattress that I had used my topper with for the lat ten years. 5. This mattress exceeds all my expectation's and I would certainly recommend this unit as a great purchase.
The mattress is way too firm and the edges are strange and unsupportive. I'm very confused by all the reviews that say this mattress is soft -- I'm 120 lbs and feel like I'm sleeping on concrete. I was expecting to sleep like a queen baby every night, but instead have not slept a single full night since I unboxed it. I really had such high hopes! I'm really sad to say this mattress does not live up to its hype.
The unboxing was exciting! I expected such wonderfulness from this new thing that I would spend 33% of my life on. The first week or two were full of aches and pain's that I attributed to my body adjusting to something foreign, but I still had hope. I physically adjusted but it still falls....flat. It's been almost two months and I'm wondering how mad my other half will be if I call and have them come and take it back, it was his idea to try it after all. I'm sleeping on a soft slab that I might imagine sleeping in a coffin might be like. I don't find it comforting...or supportive. It's a far cry from the 5 year old Serta firm double sided pillow top that it replaced. I tried even harder to like it and put a new European down feather bed on top. No....still no love. My bedroom is no longer my "haven" from the world. It's somewhere that I go to try to sleep. The only thing that will stop me from replacing it is he's going to be upset and I will have to figure out how to replace it with something that wasn't his idea. I would rather have a root canal.
It was much better than my previous mattress. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a good night's sleep. I loved the box experience. Going upstairs to my bedroom, we couldn't get bigger than a full size mattress because of the head room. This was easy, of course, it's in a box. But, if we move, the mattress will have some "bend" to it and will be no problem.
